A representative in Yandex Direct gets either full access or read-only. Full access can edit ads, view statistics, move funds and pay for campaigns. Read-only can view settings and statistics, without the balance and without payment. The help does not cap how many representatives you add. The access level does not become a judgment of the traffic.

How to judge a contractor when the traffic is dirty is covered in How to evaluate an advertising contractor. This article is only about which access to grant and what support will see.

Two levels, and one limit on full access

The representatives help allows full access only for a login that is not registered in Yandex Balance. If the contractor's login is already in Balance, full access will not sit on it. What remains is read-only: settings and statistics, without payment and without moving funds.

The help recommends granting access to accounts you registered yourself. A representative with full access also manages campaigns in other Yandex commercial services. Removing the representative removes that access too. Say this before you grant it: full access is wider than one Direct account, and revoking it is wider than one Direct account too.

LevelWhat it allowsWhat it does not allow
Full accessEdit ads, view statistics, move funds, payGranting it to a login already registered in Balance
Read-onlyView settings and statisticsBalance and payment
Goals without the counterOptimize campaigns on goals that already existRetargeting and audience building

How to grant access and what to check after

  1. Decide whether the person needs to edit ads and pay. If not, read-only is enough.

  2. For full access, use a login that is not in Balance. An account you registered yourself is the safer choice.

  3. Grant the access. The number of representatives is not capped, and each extra full-access seat repeats the same rights in other Yandex commercial services.

  4. Open the account as that login: read-only should show no payment and no balance, full access should be able to edit ads.

  5. When the access is no longer needed, remove the representative. Removal also applies to the other commercial services full access had opened.

Read-only does not stop someone from viewing campaign statistics. It does not let them pay or move money. For a client report that is often enough. For changing ads and topping up, it is not.

Metrica goals without counter access

Goals already have a separate permission. The Metrica goals help lets you allow optimization on goals that already exist, both automatic and your own, without access to the counter. The Direct user then optimizes campaigns and sees only the part of the statistics needed to evaluate campaigns they created.

That permission is not granted for retargeting and audience building. If the contractor needs audience segments, goals-without-the-counter will not open that. On a recently created counter the option is on by default: check it if the counter is new and you do not want goal optimization available immediately.

The help does not itemize which reports sit inside "part of the statistics". The working line is: optimization and evaluation of their own campaigns are in, retargeting is out. Do not promise the contractor a full counter on the strength of this checkbox.

What support can see

Support consults only on the campaigns of the login that sent the request. The login is visible if you open ya.ru in another tab. A specialist gets access to the data only while handling the request.

Phone access to campaigns needs a PIN. The contact block lists round-the-clock numbers: Russian regions 8 800 700-47-45, Moscow +7 495 139-91-93, Belarus +375 17 336-31-36. A letter goes through the feedback forms, separate ones for clients and agencies.

If a representative writes in, support talks about that login's campaigns, not yours, until the request is sent from yours. For a call about your campaigns, the person who calls needs the PIN. Granting full access does not replace the PIN on the phone.

Who calls support, and from which login

Support sees the campaigns of the login that sent the request. If a representative is in the account and the letter leaves from their login, the conversation is about that login's campaigns. Your campaigns do not appear in that request until the letter or the call is sent from your login. The login you are on at ya.ru is visible in another tab: check it before you send, not after the answer.

The phone adds a PIN. The round-the-clock numbers are Russian regions 8 800 700-47-45, Moscow +7 495 139-91-93, Belarus +375 17 336-31-36. The PIN is required for access to campaigns by phone. It is not part of read-only and not part of full access: it is a separate code for the call. A representative with full access and no PIN will not open your campaigns by phone if they call from their own login and their own conversation.

The feedback forms are separate for clients and agencies. A letter from the client form and a letter from the agency form enter through different doors, and both are still tied to the sender's login. Granting a representative full access and expecting support, from their letter, to see your balance is not what the help describes: it consults on the campaigns of the login that wrote.

Where this breaks

Full access "just in case" lets the person pay and edit ads, and also enter other Yandex commercial services. Removing them closes that, but while the representative is in place the rights are already in effect. Read-only cuts off those payments and leaves the statistics.

A login that is in Balance will not take full access. The attempt runs into the help's rule, not into a glitch in the account. Use another login, one that is not registered in Balance, preferably one you created.

The goals checkbox replaces neither full access nor read-only on the account. It does not open retargeting. Neither the access level nor this checkbox evaluates traffic quality: the help does not turn them into a verdict on whether the contractor caused dirty clicks. That stays a separate review, which the contractor article is for.
